Market Technologies Donates Money to the Hurricane Charley Disaster Relief Fund

Wesley Chapel, FL, August 18, 2004 — Louis B. Mendelsohn, President and Chief Executive Officer, announced today that Market Technologies, the leading provider of intermarket analysis futures trading software, has donated money to the Hurricane Charley Disaster Relief Fund. This fund directly benefits the victims of the disaster by helping to provide for the many necessities (like water, ice, food, etc) that so many have to do without right now. “We were all very fortunate to have just missed being in the path of the storm ourselves, and it is important to help those whose lives, in a matter of hours, were changed for years to come” said Mr. Mendelsohn. Hurricane Charley made landfall at Cayo Costa, a barrier island just west of Cape Coral a town located in Ft.Myers. It hit land as a Category 4 storm at approximately 3:45 PM EDT on Friday, 13 August 2004. Winds were estimated at 145 mph, with a 7-foot storm surge. Charley then continued on a Northeast track over the state of Florida and took approximately nine hours to navigate the Florida peninsula. It was the strongest hurricane to make landfall in the state since Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Governor Jeb Bush has established the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund to assist communities in rebuilding. This fund will be used for needs unmet by other disaster relief organizations also working to help rebuild lives and communities. Communities will decide how their allocations from this fund should be spent, and the most heavily impacted communities will receive the greatest percentage of these funds.
