It started from a little idea in a magazine – and it’s grown!
You may have seen my email about my daughter Rachael and effort to give our new, local family shelter backpacks for the young people who are displaced and find themselves without essentials for school. I’m very proud of Rachael for her project; our Vantagepoint family made sure that 70 children in our community would have what they need.
But it’s more than that….
This project started when Rachael read about another child doing something similar. That inspired her! And THAT is the bigger lesson of this project and what really means the most to me about she’s accomplished. Rachael was inspired and took action. She found a way to make the backpack project happen…and to change lives.
This last month Rachael was honored by the Florida House of Representatives, and she was featured on the news. Of course, that’s all very gratifying but her bigger dream is that she inspires someone else to do something too to make the world a little better.
Here’s the proclamation from our state representative and a video showing the journey of how this all came to fruition.
My team continues to work tirelessly to support Shriners Hospitals for Children, The Children’s Cancer Center, and many local and often overlooked charities in our area. Giving back is part of the fabric of our company and our family.
